Water Elevator Complete

So I've now finished the water elevator. I expanded the shaft to 3x3 to accommodate the boat, and rebuild the top of the shaft to prevent suffocation when the boat surfaces. This time I have a video to display the shaft and the beginning of the first building in the sky city. (it just appears to be a hallway at the moment)




Note - I lost track of days with the time I spent in the mines, so from now on I'll just have to refer to each update as "update" instead of day *.

Day 7 Update

I didn't take any screens between day 2 and 7, as I was not building, but gathering sand for glass. What I had planned is not going to work, though, and my new plan includes a lot more glass, so it probably won't be until day 17 or 18 before I can update again.

And upon doing a little exploration, I found that there are a LOT of cave entrances around my fort...

There are also three other entrances I dug into while mining below the temporary fort, but I didn't feel it was necessary to cap them.

Seriously, I think this is the most complex damn cave system I've ever seen. Wonder how many times I'll get lost?

Minecraft Cartographer Cave Isometric Cut

Hi there

If you're reading this it probably means you know me and I've linked you to here, or you were linked here by someone who knows me, which is quite unlikely. For those who are in the latter category, my name is Scott Jones, I'm seventeen years old living in Kingston, Ontario, and am an avid gamer. I've been playing minecraft for about a month now, as it never seems to get old. I decided to start this blog to record the things I do in minecraft and hopefully entertain people for several minutes a day.

The project I'm currently working on (and just began today) is a minecraft sky fortress. Eventually I intend to have a water elevator, but for now there'll just be stairs. This will hopefully be a large project, but who knows what'll happen in the future...

At the moment I've passed through two in-game days, but haven't accomplished much, as getting started on a world is a little slow. I scouted out the location to build, which is conveniently close to my spawn, an began with a cobblestone foundation for the bottom layer. This will probably be the bottom of the water elevator later on.

 Red: This open area will later be filled in with cobblestone, I need to mine some more.

Blue: This is where the water elevator will come through, leading to the fortress.
